chicken Kathi roll

  • For Paratha:
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • salt to taste
  • water for kneading
  • oil as required to roast rotis
  • For Filling:
  • 2 cup cooked chicken cubes(boneless)
  • 2 onions,paste
  • 2 tomatoes finally chopped
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 egg beaten
  • juice of large lemon
  • 1-2 onion sliced
  • few tbsp of green chutney
  • 2 tbsps oil
  • salt to taste
  • For green chutney:
  • one bundle green coriander
  • 6-7 strings of mint leaves(pudina)
  • 1 tsp cummin seeds roasted
  • lemon 2 tsp
  • 2 garlic clove
  • salt
  • 1-2 green chili


  1. Mix wheat flour and all purpose flour add salt and water to form soft dough cover it and keep it side till you get the stuffing ready
  2. Add oil to pan,add the onion paste and cook for 5-6 mins.Add ginger garlic paste and stir for another 2-3 mins add tomatoes and cook for another 2 mins
  3. Add shredded chicken and cover and cook for 8-10 mins on low flame
  4. In separate plate,mix together sliced onion and 2-3 tbsp of green chutney and keep a side
  5. Beat eggs add salt and pepper to it and keep a side
  6. Roll roti to regular size as u prepare daily for your meal
  7. Now time to assemble khati roll, dizzle some oil on tawa fry roti one on a side and pour 2 tbsp of the beaten egg and flip over the roti so the egg gets cooked
  8. Remove it from tawa put the egg coated side of the roti up and add some lime juice on top place chicken filling sprinkle sliced onion and green chutney on top and roll it tightly to form khati roll
  9. Serve hot with green chutney
  10. For chutney: put together all the ingredients in grinder jar add little water to it grind it till fine paste.
Yield: 6-7 rolls
